ms. pearl

if you ever come to chicago, you need to meet ms. pearl willis. she is a chicago native and now operates the "roseland good news day care" that is a free day care for mom's in school...what a huge blessing! she has a heart for the community and for evangelism. ms. pearl's kids came to the agape center for several years and always told her about God, but it took her awhile before God opened her eyes. she wound up at church one day where milton, our director, was teaching a class to homeless people. ms. pearl stumbled in by chance and by God's grace she received Christ that day. she has since then been a long time partner and friend of ours. her story is incredible- i cry every time i hear it. here is her website.
2 weeks ago we helped her out with her annual block party/ outreach. it was free for everyone and we got to bless the community. my favorite part was that the local drug dealers offered to be security during the party---and let me tell you i felt so safe! they may do drugs, but they love ms. pearl and have mad respect for her (but pray they would find Jesus soon!).
