boystown
last friday, beth, i, and the moody graduate program went to boystown (the LGBT area of town) to do an outreach. i was kinda of the oddball out, but i had a great time meeting other christians my age. we met at 7pm and didn't go downtown until about 9. we partnered with a local church who has a heart for the gay community called chicagoland christian church. we did surveys and had reverse boards to initiate conversation among people. i had a great time just talking to people and learning about their religious experience and history with the church. we found there was a LOT of hurt from the church and asked for forgiveness from them.
in lieu of grace's death, i really felt God reminding me the sense of urgency the Gospel has for us as believers. it was great to spend hours on end just talking and sharing the Gospel with people who needed to hear how much they are loved. i would love to spend the rest of my life doing just that, so i struggle when i sit here at the desk filling out forms for our volunteers.
i am praying for contentment on where God has put me when all i want to do is be outside or having lunch with some girls and discipling them about Jesus.
